No Dual Relationship Policy

To protect your well-being and uphold professional ethical standards, Bold & Becoming Wellness, LLC maintains a strict No Dual Relationship policy. Clients receiving massage or bodywork services cannot also receive mental health therapy services, and vice versa.

Engaging in both services creates a dual relationship that may compromise therapeutic boundaries, clinical objectivity, and the integrity of care. For this reason:

  • Individuals who receive massage or bodywork at Bold & Becoming Wellness are not eligible to become mental health therapy clients.

  • Current mental health clients are not eligible to receive massage or bodywork services through this practice.

  • Referrals to trusted external providers will be offered when appropriate.

This policy ensures that every client receives care that is ethically sound, safe, and aligned with professional standards for both clinical social work and massage therapy.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why Can’t I Receive Both Massage and Mental Health Services Here?

At Bold & Becoming Wellness, your safety and quality of care come first. Because I am licensed as both a mental health therapist and a massage therapist, I follow strict ethical guidelines that prevent me from providing both services to the same individual.

What does “dual relationship” mean?

A dual relationship happens when a practitioner serves a client in more than one professional role. In this case, it would mean being both your massage therapist and your mental health therapist.

Why is this not allowed?

Dual relationships can blur boundaries and make it harder to maintain the objectivity, privacy, and emotional safety required in therapy. They can also impact the trust and neutrality needed for massage and bodywork. To protect your wellbeing, professional ethics require these roles to remain separate.

What does this mean for me?

  • If you receive massage or bodywork at Bold & Becoming Wellness, you cannot also become a therapy client here.

  • If you are currently a therapy client, you cannot receive massage or bodywork through this practice.

  • You are always welcome to ask for referrals to trusted providers for whichever service you cannot receive here.

  • No bargaining or alternative arrangements can be made. Maintaining clear boundaries is essential for your safety and for the integrity of the work.

Is this about me personally?

Not at all. This policy is in place for every client and is rooted in professional ethics, not personal preference. It ensures that your care remains safe, clear, and fully aligned with best practices.

Can I switch services later?

No — Due to strict ethical boundaries.
